Christopher
Charles Knight, born March 10th 1973 (aged forty), is a Chief
Executive Officer and philanthropist who has dedicated his life to helping
people in developing nations. One of the biggest challenges facing people
living in developing nations is the lack of access to clean, potable water.
Christopher C Knight knows that a person can only survive three days without
access to clean water. If the person lives in an area of extreme heat, like
many developing nations in Africa, they may only survive for a few hours.
There
are a variety of ways to purify water and make it safe to drink. According to
Christopher C Knight, the first and easiest way to do so is to boil it. If you
have the equipment available, bring a pot of water to boil over a fire or
stove. Let the water boil for at least five minutes and let it cool before
drinking.
If
you have the supplies, a filtration or purification pump will also successfully
make water clean and safe to drink. According to Christopher C Knight,
purification devices work by running unclean water through a filter which often
includes active charcoal. Purification devices are becoming less and less
expensive and thus more viable as a method for people in developing nations.
Additionally,
there are purification drops and tablets that make unclean water potable.
Though the tablets do not taste all that appealing – they are often made of
chlorine or iodine – they are effective methods of purifying water in the
wilderness. According to Christopher C Knight, purification drops and tablets
are relatively inexpensive to make, so they are a viable option to bring to
developing nations.
There
are a myriad of creative ways to generate clean potable water. Christopher C
Knight and other philanthropists like him are working to bring these methods to
people who struggle with lack of access to potable water every day. Please
consider joining Christopher C Knight, in the fight for clean water.
